UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men’s and women’s fencing teams will travel to Temple University for the Temple Invitational in Philadelphia, Pa. on Sunday, February 22. The trip to Philadelphia marks the squad’s last away competition for the regular season.

Heading into competition at Temple, the men’s team stays put at No. 7 in the NCAA men’s fencing rankings.
COMPETITION SCHEDULE & LINEUP
Penn State will compete against Temple, Stevens University, Princeton, University of Pennsylvania, St. John’s University and Johns Hopkins University. Competition begins with the women’s team fencing against Temple and the men’s team fencing against Stevens University, both starting at 8:30 a.m.
Spencer Burke, Matthew Gonzalez, Dusan Zeljkovic, Yaroslav Muruhin, Julian Chin, Tit Nam Cheng and Alessio Fukuda will fence foil for the men’s squad.
Representing the women’s foil team is Samantha Catantan, Clarisse Tan, Thea Fernandes and Eden De La Cruz.
Fencing epee on the men’s squad is Tingwei Xu, Sultan Hassan, Zachary Suico, Mohamed Yassin, Sebastian Bonomo and Joshua Yavorovskiy.
Allegra Cristofoletto, Yuna Tamura, Sophia Abashidze and Lena Gyenes will fence epee for the women’s team.
Michael Nil, Tyson Deck, Neil Lilov, Carlos Fernando Chacon and Kamar Skeete will fence saber for the Nittany Lions. Skeete will be making his season debut at Temple.
On the women’s side, Stephanie Jen, Eunyu Kim, Eve Scott, Mia Novick, Emma Holmes and Amelis Baker will fence saber.
LAST TIME ON THE STRIP
The Nittany Lions completed a split squad weekend with the women fencing at the University of North Carolina in the Miller Invitational and the men’s squad at Duke in the Beguinet Classic.
Tingwei) Xu competed in the men's competition at the Beguinet Classic at Duke University, finishing with an 11-5 record on the day. Xu fenced undefeated (3-0) twice during the competition. His undefeated performances against No. 13 Air Force and No. 15 Brandeis University propelled the men's epee team to victories over both schools. Xu also fenced a 2-1 win-loss performance against the University of North Carolina with a win each against No. 9 New York University, No. 25 Johns Hopkins University and Notre Dame.
Eunyu Kim competed for the women's team at the Miller Invitational at the University of North Carolina, finishing with a 7-2 record. Kim fenced undefeated twice during the competition. Her first undefeated performance was against the No. 9 ranked Johns Hopkins University, which led the women's saber team to a 5-4 win. Kim's second undefeated performance came against the University of North Carolina. Kim also earned an additional win against No. 17 Notre Dame.
