UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics is advising fans attending this weekend’s men’s ice hockey series against Ohio State at Pegula Ice Arena and other events on campus to plan ahead due to significant parking and traffic impacts associated with THON.
Heavy traffic, delays and full parking lots are expected beginning Friday afternoon and continuing through Sunday evening. Fans are strongly encouraged to allow extra time for travel and to secure parking in advance.
Road Closures & Traffic Impacts
- Curtin Road, from University Drive to Porter Road, will close Friday, Feb. 20 at approximately 2 p.m.
- University Drive, from Hastings Road to Curtin Road, will be closed Friday from 4–4:45 p.m.
- All traffic for Jordan East must enter and exit via Porter Road or Dauer Drive.
Men’s Hockey Event Parking
- Premium parking in the Yellow H lots near the Shields and Wagner buildings remains available exclusively for premium pass holders.
- General parking will be available in the following locations. Digital message boards will provide real-time updates as lots fill.
- Commuter Lots
- Stadium West (Stadium West will be closed to THON traffic beginning Friday at noon through Saturday at 8 p.m. to preserve capacity for men's hockey attendees).
- East Deck
- Orange A Lot at the Katz Building
Parking Payment Options
Fans are encouraged to purchase single‑game parking in advance:
- $5.60 via ParkWhiz until 11:59 p.m. the night before the game
- $10 on game day through the Honk PSUCR zone
- East Deck hourly rates: $2 for the first hour, then $1 per hour up to the $16 daily maximum
