Women's Swimming and Diving Completes Day 2 of Big Ten Championships

Markvardt (100 fly), Cohen (100 breast) compete in finals

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Penn State Women's Swimming and Diving team completed day two of the Big Ten Championships at Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minn. 

Margaret Markvardt and Audrey Cohen advanced to the finals in their respective events. Markvardt swam in the B final for the 100 fly, finishing in 15th place with a 52.79, while Cohen swam in the C final for the 100 breast, placing 23rd with a 1:01.78. 

In the 200 Freestyle Relay, Markvardt, Katie Ketter, Cyrah Robinson and Catherine Meisner combined for a time of 1:30.91, placing 12th.

Competition is set to resume tomorrow, with preliminaries beginning at 11 a.m. for swimming and 1 p.m. for diving, and finals taking place at 6 p.m. for diving and 6:30 for swimming.
