UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- The Nittany Lions will travel to Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., where they will take on William & Mary at noon on Saturday, February 7, and Liberty on Sunday, February 8.
THE NITTANY LIONS
The 6-0 Nittany Lions are coming off three successful home doubleheaders to start the spring season. Penn State has completed two sweeps and surrendered just one point to the other four teams the Nittany Lions have faced.
Sophomore Marcus Schoeman is undefeated in singles with a 6-0 record for the spring season. Doubles pair Michael Wright and David Lindsay currently holds a 4-0 record. Not far behind is doubles team Emil Matikainen and Eyal Shyovitz with a 3-0 mark.
SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
The Nittany Lions are 9-5 all-time against William & Mary. The last meeting between the two teams came during the 2018-2019 season, a 4-2 Penn State win. Penn State will be William & Mary’s first opponent of the spring season.
Liberty owns a 2-1 advantage all-time against the Nittany Lions. The Flames earned a 4-0 win in the last meeting, which came during the 2023-24 season. Liberty is entering the weekend with a 2-3 record prior to its match on Friday, February 6.
UP NEXT
The Nittany Lions return to Happy Valley for a doubleheader on Saturday, February 14. The first match will be against Georgetown at 9 a.m., and the second will be against Mercyhurst at 2:30 p.m. at the Indoor Tennis Center.
