LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Penn State men’s tennis team took the victory over William & Mary in a 4-3 showdown. The Nittany Lions are now 7-0 for the season.
Sophomore doubles team Reiya Hattori and Marcus Schoeman earned a 6-2 doubles win against Albert Hansen and Theo Nilsson. Hattori also won his singles match against Nikita Bortnichek, winning Penn State its fourth point to win the match. David Lindsay fought for a win against Austin Cohen, Eyal Shyovitz took victory over Dylan Chou, and Emil Matikainen took down Hansen in singles.
Doubles
Hattori and Schoeman defeated Hansen and Nilsson 6-2.
Oliver Hague and Gur Trakhtenberg took the 6-4 victory over Michael Wright and Lindsay.
Bortnichek and Chou defeated Matikainen and Shyovitz 6-4.
Singles
Schoeman was defeated by Hague 2-6, 1-6.
Matikainen won against Hansen 6-1, 6-1.
Lindsay took down Austen Cohen 6-2, 2-6, 6-3.
Wright fell to Trakhtenberg 6-3, 4-6, 1-6.
Shyovitz took the victory over Chou 2-6, 6-4, 6-1.
Hattori scored a victory over Bortnichek 6-3, 7-6 (8-6).
