Men’s Tennis Rallies to Defeat Dayton, 4-3

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's tennis team hosted Dayton on Tuesday, falling behind early before rallying to win 4-3.

The Nittany Lions are now 12-4 for the season.

The Nittany Lions dropped the doubles point after losing on courts one and two, but Reiya Hattori and Eyal Shyovitz kept Penn State alive with a dominant 6-0 victory over Eric Suk and Andreas Nygaard on court three.

In singles, Penn State won four of six matches to secure the victory. Hattori got things started with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Dylan Jean on court three. However, Dayton's Kyle McNally defeated Michael Wright 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 on court one, and Mikkel Zinder knocked off Marcus Schoeman 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 on court two to put the Flyers ahead.

David Lindsay clinched a crucial three-set win over Sturle Skigelstand 7-6 (9-7), 2-6, 6-2 on court four, before Eyal Shyovitz and Kyle Chesman closed out the match with three-set wins on courts five and six respectively.

Penn State next hosts Michigan State on Friday at 2 p.m.
