UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- The Penn State men’s tennis team is preparing to play No. 46 Michigan State and No. 43 Michigan this weekend. The team will play Michigan State on Friday, March 13, at 2 p.m., and Michigan on Sunday, March 15, at noon.
The team just clinched a 4-3 match against Dayton. Reiya Hattori and Eyal Shyovitz were paired for doubles and swiftly beat their opponents 6-0. They both also won their singles matches, helping Penn State to victory. Freshman Kyle Chesman clinched the match when he defeated Rishi Dore 4-6, 6-3, 6-1.
SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
The Michigan State men’s tennis team is currently 5-7 on the season. The Nittany Lions hold the Spartans to a 28-15 all-time record. Last season, Michigan State won the match 4-3.
Michigan currently holds a record of 5-5 and will face No.1 Ohio State before traveling to Happy Valley. The Wolverines have a 33-10 all-time advantage against the Nittany Lions. Last season, Michigan claimed the match 4-0.
