Women's Golf Finishes T-8th at Briar’s Creek Invitational

JOHN’S ISLAND, S.C.  – The Penn State women's golf team finished tied for eighth at the 13th-annual Briar's Creek Invitational hosted by the College of Charleston at the Golf Club at Briar's Creek this week.

The event, which was shortened to 36 holes due to inclement weather, concluded on Tuesday afternoon with the Nittany Lions coming in at 11-over, 587, for the week.

Boston College secured the title with an 11-under showing for the week while UCF (8-under) and Michigan State (1-under) rounded out the top-three as the only schools under par. NC State and the host College of Charleston rounded out the top-five in a tie for fourth at 2-over.

Penn State was paced by freshman Audrey Lam and sophomore Hannah Rabb who each finished the week at 1-over and tied for 24th following even-par rounds on Tuesday.

Freshman Lillian Guleserian used a 1-over, 73, on Tuesday to finish the week 3-over and in a tie for 34th while playing as an individual, Zeynep Sualp, concluded play at 6-over following rounds of 74 and 76, good for T-56th.

Jiratchaya Jiratthitinun and Mara King rounded out the scoring at 7-over and 8-over and in 63rd and 64th position, respectively.

Penn State will take next week off from competition before closing the month of March at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic hosted by the University of Georgia on March 28-30.
