UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men’s fencing team concluded the 2025-2026 season for the Nittany Lions on the final day of the NCAA National Fencing Championships in South Bend, In. at the University of Notre Dame.
MEN’S EPEE
Tingwei Xu started the second day of men's competition with the fourth round of men’s epee pool play. Xu didn’t earn any wins during round four but recorded 11 touches.
In the last round of pool play, Xu fenced to a 2-2 record, recording 14 touches.
Xu concluded his senior season at Penn State with a 21st place finish in men’s epee, winning 8 out of 23 matchups throughout the championships.
MEN’S FOIL
During day two of the men’s competition, Spencer Burke earned one win in round four of pool play, scoring 11 touches. Tit Nam Cheng fenced to a 2-2 record during round four, recording 16 touches.
Both Burke and Cheng fenced to a 2-2 record in the last round of pool play. Burke recorded 16 touches while Cheng recorded 14.
Cheng earned a 13th place finish overall to conclude his 2025-2026 junior season after winning 11 of 23 matchups.
Burke finished his 2025-2026 junior season in 19th place for men’s foil, winning 9 out of 23 bouts in the National Fencing Championships.
MEN’S SABER
Senior Neil Lilov continued competition during day two of the men’s championships. During round four of pool play, Lilov earned one win after scoring 14 touches.
In the last round of pool play, Lilov earned one victory after recording 14 touches.
Lilov concluded his senior season for the Nittany Lions with a 19th place finish overall in men’s saber, winning 8 out of 23 bouts in the National Fencing Championships.
