No. 20 Penn State Earns NCAA Tournament Berth

The Nittany Lions will head to the Tempe Regional

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The No. 20 Penn State women's gymnastics was selected to compete in the Arizona State Regional of the NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships, with action slated to begin April 2 in Tempe, Ariz. The Nittany Lions will take action in the night session that will begin at 10 p.m. ET and will air on ESPN+

Joining Penn State in the Arizona State Regional night session are three-seed Florida and 14-seed California along with the winners of the April 1 play-in between Arizona and host Arizona State. Sixth-seed Georgia, 11th-seed Michigan State, BYU and Southern Utah will compete in the afternoon session starting at 4 pm ET.

The NCAA selection committee identified the top 16 teams and seeded them in the bracket. Teams 17-36 were placed geographically at one of the four regional sites. Eight teams from each region will compete on day one of their respective regionals, with the top four teams moving on to day two of competition. The top two placing teams in day three of the competition will advance to compete at the NCAA Championship in Fort Worth, Texas.

Penn State qualifies for regionals for the fourth consecutive season, and 49th time overall, this year carrying a top-25 designation as the 20th-ranked team in the country. The Nittany Lions, under the leadership of head coach Sarah Brown, sits at a 196.470 team NQS this season heading into postseason competition.
