ATHENS, Ga. – The Penn State women's golf team finished seventh at the 54th-annual Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic hosted by the University of Georgia this week.
After a tough opening round, the Nittany Lions battled back to finish the week 28-over and in seventh position in the 16-team field.
To host Bulldogs secured the championship at 11-over, three strokes clear of Rutgers in second at 14-over, while Indiana (20-over), High Point (22-over) and Florida Gulf Coast (24-over) rounded out the top-five.

Freshman Audrey Lam climbed six spots on the leaderboard in the final round after carding a 1-under, 71, finishing the week tied for 11th at 3-over, 219.
Sophomore Hannah Rabb had the only other red-figure round for the Nittany Lions posting a 1-under, 71, in the second round, however, she gave some strokes back in the final round finishing the week at 9-over, 225, and tied for 29th position.
Sophomore Jiratchaya Jiratthitinun bounced back with rounds of 74 (2-over) and 75 (3-over) after opening the week with a 6-over, 78, on Saturday to finish the week in a tie for 42nd in the 89-player field at 11-over.
Freshmen classmates Lillian Guleserian and Mara King rounded out the team scoring at 14-over and 17-over, respectively, while sophomore Lauren Thompstone finished the week 10-over and tied for 34th, playing as an individual.
Penn State is back on the course next week in Maryland at the Terrapin Invitational on April 5-6 for its final regular-season tune-up before the B1G Championships on April 24-26.
