UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Thomas Wright has been hired as an assistant coach for the Penn State men’s tennis team under head coach Bruce Lipka.
Wright comes to Penn State after most recently working as the Head Professional of Competitive Development at the Orinda Country Club in California. While at OCC, he served as a practice partner for No. 1 ATP Tour and 3-time US Open doubles champion Rajeev Ram and for No. 20 ATP Tour and Australian Open semi-finalist Andre Goransson.
Wright’s professional playing career includes winning the Irish National Indoors (doubles), the County Dublin Championships (doubles), and representing the USA in the Avory Cup.
Wright played collegiately at the University of California, Berkeley (Cal) from 2017 to 2021, where he served as team captain in 2021.
