UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Penn State women’s basketball head coach Tanisha Wright has announced the addition of Lady Lion legend Kelly Mazzante as an assistant coach on her staff. Mazzante and Wright played together for three seasons (2001-04) for the Lady Lions. She returns to Penn State with 12 years of collegiate coaching experience, including her most recent three-year stint at Georgetown.
“I am thrilled to welcome Kelly back home to Happy Valley with me,” said Wright. “Having one of the best players in Penn State history to coach alongside me is crucial in what we are building. Her knowledge of not just the game of basketball, but Lady Lion basketball will be essential as we bring this program back to where it belongs. Kelly was one of the most competitive teammates and athletes I have had the honor to play with, and I can’t wait to join forces back at a place that holds special meaning to both of us.”

She is the all-time leading scorer at Penn State, boasting 2,919 career points, ranking fourth all-time in the Big Ten Conference record book.
