LeClair, Dwyer Earn B1G Weekly Awards

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State track and field earned a pair of weekly awards from the Big Ten on Wednesday. Ajani Dwyer was named the men’s Track Athlete of the Week, while Marie-Eloise LeClair received the same honor on the women’s side.

Dwyer opened his outdoor season with an impressive performance in the 100m at the UCF Knights Invite, winning the event with a time of 9.96. That currently ranks as the fastest time in the nation this season, easily eclipsing the second-fastest time of 10.10.

LeClair made her outdoor season debut with a pair of first-place finishes in Orlando. The senior won the 100m with a time of 11.08 and took the 200m in 22.75. Both times rank as the best in the nation through two weeks of the outdoor season.

Penn State is back in action this weekend as it heads to Gainesville for the Pepsi Florida Relays on Friday and Saturday.
