Men’s Tennis Drops Last Regular-Season Match to No. 33 Wisconsin 0-4

The Nittany Lions are 16-13 to finish the regular season

MADISON, Wis.- The Penn State men’s tennis team dropped its last regular-season match to No. 33 Wisconsin 0-4. The Nittany Lions finish the season 16-13 and 3-10 in the Big Ten. 

 

Michael Wright and David Lindsay won their doubles match 6-3. Freshmen Emil Matikainen, Eyal Shyovitz, and Kyle Chesman all won their first set of singles, but each match went unfinished since Wisconsin had already clinched the match.  

 

 

Doubles 

 

Reiya Hattori and Shyovitz were defeated by Oliver Olsson and Tomas Zlatohlavek on court two, 3-6. 

Wright and Lindsay took down Ferdinand Kloesters and Michael Minasyan 6-3 on court one. 

Christos Glavas and Chesman were defeated on court three by Matthew Fullerton and Patrik Meszaros 4-6. 

 

 

Singles 

 

Wright was taken down by Meszaros on court one, 2-6, 1-6. 

Lindsay was defeated on court three by Kloesters 3-6, 3-6. 

Schoeman was defeated by No. 86 Minasyan on court two, 6-7 (1-7), 1-6. 

Matikainen’s match against Edouard Aubert was abandoned at 7-6 (7-5), 4-4. 

Shyovitz’s match against Zlatohlavek went unfinished at 7-6 (7-5), 4-4. 

Chesman’s match against Sachiv Kumar was also unfinished at 7-5, 1-6.
