CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Graduate student Kellen Ryan and junior captain Landon Simpson finished out their 2026 seasons with a podium finish, both earning NCAA All-American status in the All-Around. Simpson was the top Nittany Lion finisher, earning a fourth-place spot with a 77.298, missing the medal slots by less than a point. Ryan, who a year ago today debated hanging up the uniform before sporadically deciding to return to PSU for his final season of eligibility, placed seventh in the All-Around with a 76.098. The pair signify the most PSU All-Around All-Americans since the 2023 season, when the Nittany Lions also had two honorees.
In addition to Simpson and Ryan, PSU had three other individuals earn opportunities to chase individual medals. Junior Akseli Karsikas and freshmen Ritam Malik and Shaun Smith combined for four other routines. Karsikas finished 26th overall on the still rings with a 12.800, and narrowly missed the podium on high bar, grabbing a 10th place finish with his 13.533 routine. Malik also competed on the rings, where he closed out his freshman season with a 12.533, good for a 29th-place finish. Smith ended his inaugural collegiate season with a 13.666 on the vault to round out the Penn State finalists.
