ROSEMONT, Ill. – Penn State men’s lacrosse moves its Big Ten weekly honor total to 14 with redshirt freshman Andrew Beard earning this week’s Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor. The honor marks Beard’s first Big Ten weekly award. PSU’s 15 total recognitions rank atop the conference and are more than Rutgers, Michigan, and Maryland combined.
In Beard’s first start since returning from injury, he helped headline a Penn State offense that totaled 27 points against Rutgers in the team's 2026 regular season finale. His two goals matched his career best, while his assist total of three and point total of five each set new career highs. His efforts helped PSU secure the two-seed in the Big Ten Tournament and a share of the regular season title.
