UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State’s Ajani Dwyer was named the Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week on Wednesday, earning the award for the second-consecutive week.
Dwyer competed at the Pepsi Florida Relays, where he bested a field of 49 runner in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.06. The only runner with a time faster than that this outdoor season is Dwyer himself with a 9.96 last week at the UCF Knights Invite.
The first-place finish came in a strong field. Dwyer’s time came in ahead of the runner-up, Florida State’s Neo Mosebi, who clocked a 10.12. Mosebi was the ACC champion in the event last season.
Dwyer has competed in two events this outdoor season and finished first in each. He was named the Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week on both occasions.
Penn State returns to action this weekend at Bucknell’s Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday and Sunday.
