No. 6 Men’s Gymnastics Names Two to Big Ten All-Freshman Team

Shaun Smith and Eliran Ioscovich each earned a spot on the team

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Penn State men’s gymnastics owns half of the honorees on the 2026 Big Ten Men’s Gymnastics All-Freshman Team. First-years Eliran Ioscovich and Shaun Smith each garnered the recognition, teaming up with two Nebraska Cornhuskers to round out the full list of honorees.

Smith, the Big Ten’s 2026 Freshman of the Year, is a two-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week honoree this season. He ranks 28th nationally on floor. His four-score average sits at a 13.350. He sits at 14th nationally on vault, as the team heads into the postseason. His four-sore average sits at 14.100 and owns a season-best score of 14.200 on the event. At this weekend’s Big Ten Championships, Smith qualified for the individual finals on vault. He posted a 13.975 on vault, just barely missing a medal spot in his first Big Ten Championships, finishing in fourth place.

Ioscovich, who primarily served as a specialist on parallel bars. He posted a season high score of 13.800 back at the West Point Open in January. His four-score average of 13.138 ranks 25th in the country.
