UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State Nittany Lion Levi Haines won the 2026 Pan American Wrestling Championship at 79 kg with an unbeaten run through his weight class. The event was held in Iowa City, Iowa over the weekend and Haines competed on Sunday in men’s freestyle.
Haines went 4-0, all by technical superiority, in the round robin weight class structure. He beat Mikey Labriola 11-0, Sergio Muniz 10-0, Patrick Leder 13-2 and Jhoan Rodriguez 10-0 to sweep the field and claim the 79 kg Gold Medal in Iowa City.
