UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced on Wednesday afternoon that Penn State midfielder Anna Salerno will represent the Nittany Lions on the 2026 Senior All-Star Team. Salerno will play for the Blue All-Stars with Johns Hopkins’ Tim McCormack coaching the squad. The 2026 Senior All-Star Division I game will be held on Tierney Field at USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md., on May 30 at 12:30 p.m.
After coming in as transfers this season, Salerno made an immediate impact and earned All-Big Ten Second Team honors, the third all-conference honor of her career. During her campaign with the Nittany Lions, the graduate student has shown herself to be a true two-way midfielder.
On the offensive front, Salerno has tallied a point in all but three games this season with seven multi-point outings. Her best game as a scorer came from her four-goal effort against Colgate where she shot 80% and had a pair of goals from the free position. Her best game as a passer came during Penn State’s California residency where she dished out a trio of assists against San Diego State, a career-high. Defensively, she picked up a ground ball in seven games and caused a turnover in five outings. Salerno has also been beneficial in the draw circle where she has four games with multiple won draw controls.
