UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State student-athletes continue to achieve academic excellence, displaying high levels of success in the classroom according to Academic Progress Rate (APR) data released by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
The NCAA reported 21 Penn State teams earned perfect APR scores of 1,000 during the 2024-25 academic year. The teams earning a perfect single-year APR are women’s basketball, men’s cross country, women’s cross country, men’s fencing, field hockey, men’s golf, women’s golf, men’s gymnastics, women’s gymnastics, men’s hockey, women’s hockey, men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, softball, women’s swimming & diving, men’s tennis, women’s tennis, women’s track & field and men’s volleyball.
In addition, 10 Penn State squads earned Public Recognition Award from the NCAA, which recognizes the top 10 percent APR teams in each sport: men’s cross country, women’s cross country, women’s golf, women’s gymnastics, men’s hockey, women’s swimming & diving, men’s tennis, women’s tennis, women’s track & field and men’s volleyball.
