UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State softball program and head coach Clarisa Crowell announced the team’s 2026 fall ball schedule on Tuesday morning, with eight contests scheduled including seven home events at Nittany Lion Softball Park & Beard Field and a return to the Little League Girls with Game Experience.
The 2026 fall ball slate kicks off on Sunday, September 13, with the Nittany Lions set to host Kutztown in a Noon (ET) matchup for a 12-inning contest. A week later, on Sunday, September 20, the Blue & White welcome the IUP Crimson Hawks for a 12:30 p.m. (ET) 12-inning home matchup. A full Saturday slate of fall softball arrives on October 3, with Penn State set to welcome Bucknell and Seton Hill for a round-robin day of action. PSU’s pair of regulation seven-inning games are scheduled for 11 a.m. (ET) against the Bison and 4 p.m. (ET) against the Griffins. Penn State gears up for two more 12-inning exhibitions on Sunday, October 4, against East Stroudsburg at Noon (ET), followed by a 5:30 p.m. (ET) midweek test on Wednesday, October 7, against Lock Haven.
Penn State softball makes its annual return trip to the Little League Girls with Game experience on Saturday, October 17, with the Nittany Lions prepared to return to Howard J. Lamade Stadium in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The day begins with an interactive camp experience for local youth softball players, working with student-athletes and coaches from all four participating schools to help grow the sport in Central Pennsylvania and beyond. Then, the four participating programs will take part in exhibition games in the afternoon and early evening hours, with the Nittany Lions scheduled to take on the Army Black Knights at 4:30 p.m. (ET).
PSU is slated to wrap up its 2026 fall ball calendar on Sunday, October 18, with the Blue & White scheduled to play host to an 11:30 a.m. (ET) matchup against the Virginia Cavaliers at Nittany Lion Softball Park & Beard Field. Penn State will face Virginia in a fall matchup for the second year in a row. PSU and UVA both published impressive 2026 campaigns, with each program surpassing the 30-win threshold a year ago in addition to both programs making appearances in assorted top 25 polls throughout the year, paving the way for a marquee end-of-fall contest.
Last season, Penn State wrapped up a 33-21 overall campaign and mustered 11 wins in Big Ten Conference regular season competition this year, extending the program’s longest streak of double-digit winning conference seasons in program history. Penn State has won at least 30 games in four of the last five seasons and is currently in the midst of one of the most dominant runs of on-field success since the program’s inaugural campaign in 1965.
