Foley, Powell to Compete with USA Volleyball at U21 Pan Am Cup

The event is in Guatemala on June 23-28

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Two incoming freshmen on the Penn State men’s volleyball team are set to compete in the upcoming 2026 Men’s U21 Pan American Cup in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Middle blocker Isiah Powell and libero Drake Foley will represent USA at the event, while another incoming freshman, middle blocker Luc Soerensen, will serve as an alternate.

The Pan Am Cup will take place from June 23-28. USA is in Pool A with Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Venezuela, while Pool B includes Canada, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. USA, which won bronze at the FIVB Men’s U21 World Championship last year, opens play against Dominican Republic on June 23 at 5 p.m. ET.

The 14-player roster was selected from a pool of 23 players that spent last week training at the Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Powell has prior experience with USA Volleyball as he was on the team that won gold at the 2025 U19 Pan Cam Cup in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Foley is set to make his first National Team appearance.
