UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Peter and Ann Tombros Endowed Head Coach Mike Rhoades has announced the signing of experienced guard Dasonte Bowen ahead of the 2026-27 Penn State men’s basketball season. Bowen, who spent two seasons at St. Bonaventure and two seasons at Iowa, comes to Happy Valley as a graduate student.

- Spent two seasons at St. Bonaventure and two seasons at Iowa, and comes to Penn State with career marks of 661 points, 277 assists and an 81.3 career free throw percentage.
- Made 43 starts in 43 appearances through two seasons with the Bonnies, averaging double-digit points and four-plus assists per game in both seasons.
- Averaged 10.9 points, 3.0 rebounds and a team-leading and career-high 4.8 assists per game during redshirt junior season (2025-26) at St. Bonaventure. Ranked top 10 in the Atlantic 10 in assists per game (4.8 – third), minutes per game (34.4 – third), assist-to-turnover ratio (2.2 – fifth) and free throw percentage (85.2% - ninth). Scored in double figures in 19 games and recorded four-or-more assists in 20 games.
- Was St. Bonaventure’s starting point guard in 2024-25 before injury cut his season short after 10 games. Averaged 11.1 points, 4.2 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 2.0 steals with a 1.8 assist-to-turnover ratio in 31 minutes per game.
- Spent freshman and sophomore seasons at Iowa, playing in 51 games for the Hawkeyes with eight starts. Averaged 4.4 points, 2.0 assists and a 3.1 assist-to-turnover ratio during sophomore season in 2023-24. Saw action in 26 games during true freshman campaign with the Hawkeyes in 2022-23, scoring a season-high 12 points vs. Duke in Madison Square Garden.
- Was a first-team All-NEPSAC honoree as a senior and sophomore at Brewster Academy. Helped lead Brewster to NEPSAC AAA championship during his senior season.
- Averaged 15.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.4 steals while shooting 52.7 percent from the field, 47.4 percent from 3-point range, and 90 percent from the foul line the summer of 2021 playing EYBL.
