UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State women’s basketball head coach Tanisha Wright signs Ashlee Brown to her 2026-27 roster. Brown joins the three other freshman on Wright’s squad. She is a 5-9 guard from Des Moines, Iowa.
“We’re excited to add Ashlee to our roster,” said Wright. “Ashlee has a great work ethic and will fit the culture seamlessly. We’re looking forward to seeing what she brings to the Lady Lion family.”
The incoming freshman attended West Des Moines Valley High School for three seasons where she was a third team All-State member. Throughout her three years at West DMV, she helped her team to a regional championship in 2024. Brown played in 21 games and started in 20 in the regional run her sophomore campaign. She totaled 91 points, 74 rebounds, 49 assists and 28 steals that year. As a junior, Brown played and started in all 23 games in 2024-25. She compiled 178 points, 11 rebounds, 48 assists and 20 steals in her third high school season.
Brown spent her senior season playing for Example Academy in Frankfurt, Ill. She helped her team to the Elite 8 in the Grind Session Women’s World Championship in 2025-26. In January, Brown was named a McDonald All-American nominee.
