UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State baseball senior Michael Anderson was named ABCA/Rawlings All-Region first-team as a designated hitter on Tuesday. He advances to All-American voting with those teams set to be released on Friday, June 12.
Anderson is Penn State’s 48th all-time ABCA All-Region honoree and PSU’s eighth first-team selection since 1996.
Anderson is Penn State’s seventh All-Region selection in the last three seasons joining Adam Cecere (first team, 2024), J.T. Marr (first team, 2024), Travis Luensmann (second team, 2024), Ryan DeSanto (second team, 2025), Paxton Kling (second team, 2025) and Jack Porter (second team, 2025).
Among the All-Region first team designated hitters, Anderson ranks first in batting average (.358) and slugging percentage (.742), while sitting second in total bases (141), on base percentage (.470) and OPS (1.212) and third in home runs (20).

- Was PSU’s 18th All-Big Ten first-team selection.
- Finished his collegiate career with a .308 average, .616 slugging percentage and .422 on-base percentage.
- Tallied 173 hits with 38 doubles, three triples and 43 home runs. Collected 137 RBI and 120 runs.
- In 2026, Anderson batted .358 with 68 hits, 11 doubles, 20 home runs, 53 RBI, 43 runs, a .742 slugging percentage and a .470 on base percentage.
- In Big Ten games, he hit .367 with 10 doubles, 11 home runs, 30 RBI, a .725 slugging percentage and a .450 on base percentage.
- He led the Nittany Lions in average, hits, runs, RBI, home runs, total bases (141), hit-by-pitches (18), slugging percentage and on base percentage.
- Anderson tallied 24 multi-hit games, 15 multi-RBI games and three multi-homer games this season.
- Anderson set Penn State season records with 20 home runs and 18 hit-by-pitches, while ranking fourth in a season in slugging percentage and total bases.
- Through the regular season, the Pennsylvania native led the Big Ten in OPS (1.212; 18th nationally) and total bases (141; 41st), while sitting second in home runs (20; 17th) and slugging percentage (.742; 22nd), third in home runs per game (0.40; 17th), fifth in on base percentage (.470), sixth in hit-by-pitches (18), seventh in RBI per game (1.06) and ninth in batting average (.358) and RBI (53).
- He was one of two D1 players this season averaging 414+ feet on 20+ home runs this season.
Penn State won 16 games in 2026, including three over RPI Top-100 teams and one over an NCAA Super Regional team.
The Nittany Lions finished the year with 72 home runs, including 20 by Anderson, 15 by Bryce Molinaro and 10 by Spencer Barnett.
Over the last three seasons, PSU has slugged 224 home runs, including 71 in 2024, 81 in 2025 and 72 in 2026. Nine Nittany Lions have hit 10+ home runs in a season.
Molinaro ended the year ranking second all-time at Penn State with 39 career home runs and became the second Nittany Lion to hit 10+ home runs in three-straight seasons.
