UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Penn State women’s basketball head Coach Tanisha Wright announces the addition of Savannah White to her 2026-27 roster. A graduate transfer, White joins the Lady Lions with significant collegiate experience including a most recent season at Xavier. She becomes the 10th addition to the Blue & White ahead of the upcoming campaign.
“We are eager to add Savannah to our roster,” said Wright. “Savannah brings a built in veteran presence and leadership. We know her versatility and dynamic rebounding ability will be a tremendous addition to our team.”
White has four years of college basketball experience under her belt including a year spent in the Big Ten as a freshman. Most recently as a senior, she played for Xavier after spending two years at Indiana State following her rookie campaign at Wisconsin.
The Minnesota native played and started in 29 games with the Musketeers. White averaged 7.0 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists in her fourth collegiate season. She produced two double doubles including an 11-point, 12 rebound outing against St. John’s in the BIG EAST Tournament. The swing player produced a season best 16 points on six-of-nine shooting from the floor against Providence on Dec. 4, 2025 and then again at Villanova on Jan. 8, 2026.
Throughout her sophomore and junior seasons at Indiana State, White played in 63 games and made 27 starts. She combined for 292 points, 289 rebounds, 56 assists, 45 steals and 74 blocks across two years. White led her team in blocks at the conclusion of her junior campaign, totaling 51 which ranked fourth in the Missouri Valley Conference. She posted double figure scoring on seven occasions throughout her time with the Sycamores and recorded a career high 24 points at Drake on Feb. 27, 2025. The graduate transfer produced a career high six blocks against Valparaiso on Jan. 30, 2025.
As a freshman, White played at Wisconsin. She made six appearances for the Badgers and posted one point, six rebounds and two assists as a rookie.
White played at DeLaSalle High School in Minnesota. Throughout her high school career, she helped her team to a state title, two state championship game appearances and four playoff appearances. She was an all-conference and all-state selection at DeLaSalle. The collegiate veteran averaged a double-double as a senior with 14.7 points and 10.2 rebounds per game in 2021-22. In addition, she averaged 4.4 assists, 3.8 blocks and 2.6 steals per game. White also averaged double figure scoring as a junior, posting 10.7 points per game on top of 7.9 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 3.1 steals and 3.1 blocks per game. Out of high school, she was a four-star prospect ranked no. 90 in the Class of 2022 according to ESPN. Additionally, ESPN ranked her the no. 20 forward prospect in the 2022 class. She was also ranked 181st by the Collegiate Girls Basketball Report and 225th by the All-Star Girls Report.
