ROSEMONT, Ill. - No. 23 Penn State women’s soccer’s Aubrey Kulpa earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors per a conference announcement on Tuesday afternoon.
Kulpa becomes the first Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week of the young 2026 season after a three-point outing on the road against then-No. 2 Notre Dame on August 16. The junior forward scored or assisted both of Penn State’s goals within 1:19 of each other in the second half of the 2-2 draw.
Her first point tally of the season came on a beautiful pass across the box to a trailing Paige Kalal, who recorded her first goal in the Blue & White. Kulpa’s helper on the first goal of the season would put the Nittany Lions ahead 1-0. Just a few moments later, the Cromwell, Connecticut native forced a Fighting Irish turnover in their back line before shooting it past the keeper to give PSU a 2-0 advantage in the 54th minute of the second frame.
This is Kulpa’s second Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honor of her career after securing the accolade on August 28 a season ago following a five-point week that featured two goals and an assist against No. 23 Saint Louis and West Virginia.
The newly ranked No. 23 Nittany Lions will face No. 22 West Virginia in Morgantown on Thursday night, with kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m. (ET) at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. The contest will be streamed live on ESPN+ and the ESPN app.
