Johnson and Titmuss Earn U.S. U-20 Women's World Cup Roster Spots

Freshman midfielder Emma Johnson and redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Kealey Titmuss will don the stars and stripes in Poland from September 6-27

ATLANTA Two members of the Penn State women’s soccer program, freshman midfielder Emma Johnson and redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Kealey Titmuss, earned roster spots on the U.S. U-20 National Team for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup per a U.S. Soccer Federation announcement on Wednesday afternoon.

Johnson and Titmuss are no strangers to the U-20 National Team with both having multiple caps for the squad under their belt. Johnson has five appearances with three starts this year, playing in a total of nine matches for the team in her career. The Greenfield, Indiana native has one goal for the U-20 National Team. The true freshman, who started and played 59 minutes in her first collegiate contest at No. 2 Notre Dame on August 16, has been a mainstay in the USYNT system at the U-15, U-18, U-19 and U-20 levels prior to her time in Happy Valley.

Titmuss has five caps for the U-20 National Team in her career, boasting a 2-0-1 record between the pipes as a member of the squad. The Grand Blanc, Michigan native has allowed just one goal in her U-20 career, good for a 0.69 goals against average. Titmuss joined Penn State ahead of the 2024 season as the highest-rated goalkeeper in her class with a trio of USYNT International Camps for the U16, U17 and U19 National Teams.

The U-20 Women’s World Cup will be held in Poland from September 5-27 with the United States slated for three group stage matches before knockout play. The red, white and blue kick off the tournament with a fixture against Italy on September 6 at noon. The United States will then face Japan on September 9 in another noon start before finishing the group stage on September 12 at 9 a.m. against New Zealand.

The round of 16 will run from September 16-17 with quarterfinal matches on September 19 or 20. The semifinals will be held on September 26. The tournament will conclude with a third-place match on September 26 and the championship on September 27. All U-20 Women’s World Cup matches will be broadcast on the FOX family of networks.

No. 23 Penn State will face No. 22 West Virginia in Morgantown on Thursday night with kickoff slated for a 7 p.m. (ET) start at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. The contest will be streamed live on ESPN+ and the ESPN app.
