UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State All-Sports Museum will close out Homecoming weekend with a family-friendly book signing featuring Penn State alumna and author Cynthia Zordich and her son, former Nittany Lion fullback and co-captain Michael V. Zordich, on Sunday, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. to noon in the museum’s new Paterno Family Football Experience Room.
Cynthia Zordich will sign copies of her 2023 children’s book, “A Bee in a Matchbox.” Michael Zordich will read from the book, and both will take questions from children in attendance. Copies of the book will be available for purchase in the museum lobby. Zordich family memorabilia will also be on display.
Based on actual events, “A Bee in a Matchbox” tells the story of an unlikely friendship between a lovable dog named Chuckie and a bee. The story carries a universal message: sometimes the things we fear are simply misunderstood.
Cynthia Zordich earned her bachelor’s degree in telecommunications from Penn State in 1985. She is the editor of The Playbook, an annual magazine sharing the stories and voices of the NFL community, and the founder of NFLThread.net, a private platform that connects the wives, spouses and families of NFL players and coaches. She also co-authored “When the Clock Runs Out,” a collection of stories from 20 NFL greats about their transitions into retirement. Among those featured is her husband, Michael Zordich, a 1986 Penn State graduate, a four-year letterman at safety (1982-85), a co-captain and first-team All-American in 1985, and an NFL safety from 1987-98 with the New York Jets, Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles.
Michael Zordich lettered at fullback for Penn State from 2010-12 and served as a co-captain of the 2012 team.
About the Penn State All-Sports Museum
Opened in 2002, the Penn State All-Sports Museum is located at the southwest corner of Beaver Stadium and honors the achievements of the men and women who have built the proud tradition of Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m., with Sunday hours extended to 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on football game weekends. Admission is by suggested donation of $8 for adults and $5 for children, seniors and students.
