Q: Was Matt [Campbell] better than advertised?
A: Yeah, we gave him too much time on the first long touchdown. Had a blitz call, blitz didn’t get there, we got stuck on blocks. You know, they just dictated the tempo of this football game from snap one, and we got punched in the mouth and never recovered.
Q: Your offense had a lack of execution at times, but their [Penn State’s] defense obviously had something to say about that.
A: Yeah, I think they did a good job, they got good players. And not to discredit them, they punched us in the mouth and we never recovered from it, but offensively we got to get some momentum. We have too many good players and we have to be better about giving ourselves a chance and we never did that today. We looked like we were stuck in the mud: it didn’t look like we could run, we weren’t executing, we couldn't block them. It was just disappointing, especially on that side of the ball with all the returning guys.
Q: Can you quickly tell me how you’re gonna get ready for the home opener?
A: Yeah, we got to go in and fix our mistakes, which were a lot. We cannot let this game beat us two times and I think a little bit of that happened a year ago. We have to be able to bounce back and put this behind us and now move on to Group of Six schedule and be able to bounce back.
