UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Penn State women’s basketball head coach Tanisha Wright announces the addition of Marlo Davis to her staff as an assistant coach/player development. Davis brings a wealth of high-level basketball experience to Happy Valley with stints as the head coach for Canada’s U19 team and a decade as the head coach of Crestwood Preparatory College.
“We are ecstatic to add Marlo to our dynamic staff,” said Wright. “His ability to build such a remarkable powerhouse from scratch at Crestwood, alongside his professional experience with team Canada will be invaluable for our program.”
Most recently, Davis served as the head coach of Canada’s U19 Women’s National Team for the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup in 2025. He made his head coaching debut with the Canadian National team the year prior in the 2024 FIBA U18 Women’s AmeriCup, leading the team to a silver medal. Davis spent several years as an assistant coach with Canada’s U18/U19 age-group teams including on the bronze medal winning staff at the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup in 2023.
The coaching veteran has spent over a decade serving as the head coach of Crestwood Preparatory College women’s basketball team, leading the team to four Provincial championships (2019, 2020, 2023, 2024) and finals appearances twice (2025, 2026). During his time at Crestwood, he mentored over 115 athletes that went on to play college basketball in the NCAA.
The Canada native also served as the program director and head coach for United Mission. The squad competes in the adidas 3-Stripes Select (3SSB) circuit. Davis helped the squad to a U16 3SSB championship in 2025.
Davis played college basketball at UNC Wilmington for two years and captured the 2018 3x3 Canada Quest National Final as a member of Team Ontario.
