KETTERING, Ohio – On the heels of their best finish of the fall so far, the Penn State men’s golf team travels to Ohio for the Moraine Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Miami (Ohio) at Moraine Country Club on Monday and Tuesday.
SETTING THE STAGE
- This week’s tournament features a 80-player field compiled of 16 teams as the Nittany Lions and host RedHawks are joined by Dayton, Jacksonville State, URI, Sam Houston State, Louisiana, UConn, UAB, Eastern Michigan, Minnesota, Xavier, VCU, Wright State, Wisconsin, Ohio and George Mason.
- Monday will feature 36 holes of continuous play with tee times beginning at 8:45 a.m. with Tuesday’s final round also featuring tee times starting at 8:45 a.m.

LAST TIME OUT
- Penn State raced up the leaderboard in the final round of the Cullan Brown Intercollegiate to finish the week fifth in the 15-team field at 5-over, 857.
- The Nittany Lions used the second lowest round of the week on Tuesday firing a 12-under, 272, to climb seven spots over the final 18 holes. Four Nittany Lions finished in red figures on Tuesday to contribute to Penn State’s lowest single round total relative to par in four years and the sixth lowest all-time.
- Penn State was paced by senior Alex Creamean who finished the week tied for fifth at 5-under, 208, following back-to-back rounds in red figures of 2-under, 69, and 3-under, 68. The senior carded 15 birdies for the week.
THE TEAM
- The lineup remains consistent from last week in Kentucky as senior Alex Creamean leads the way following his best finish of the season while classmate Tim Peters, junior Will Preston, sophomore Jackson Saroney and freshman John Curran round out the group.
- Sophomore transfer Colton Lusk will compete down the road as part of the Raider Individual a 36-hole event with 53 participants at Country Club of the North.

- Creamean leads the team with a 72.11 stroke average this fall followed closely by Peters and Curran at 72.44 and 72.50, respectively.
