Sloff Named USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week

NEW ORLEANS – Nick Sloff of the Penn State cross country team was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Men’s NCAA Division I National Athlete of the Week, as announced by the organization Monday afternoon.

Sloff won the men’s 8K Gold Race at the Paul Short Run on Friday morning in 23:59.8, becoming the first Nittany Lion to win the race since Evan Dorenkamp in 2023. Dorenkamp posted a then-personal-best time of 23:53.7.

Penn State finished second with 129 points, marking the Nittany Lions’ best team finish at the Paul Short Run since winning the title in 2001.
