Penn State Student-Athlete Postgame Quotes vs. Purdue

Quotes from Penn State student-athletes following Penn State's win over Purdue on October 31, 2026

Cam Wallace | RB | R-Jr.

Q: Rocco said you were emotional after the game. Can you take us through what you were feeling and what's going through your head?

A: It was all happy tears, you know. Like I said, I've been through a lot in my career. So, everything just falling in place for the work that I put in. So, I'm just happy for myself and for this team.

Q: At what point tonight did you know that you had it? You had something going. You had some momentum. You were feeling it.

A: I knew before tonight. I had some great days of practice. I prepared for this moment. It wasn't anything new when this moment came. I was prepared. It was the same looks I've seen from practice. So, I give it to the O-line up front. They did their thing today, and the tight ends too.

Q: How do you keep persevering? Not just this year, but everything you've been through here, and just to keep going. How do you do that?

A: I mean, people have it worse than me. You could say I had it the worst out of everybody. But like, people had it worse than me. And I just think back on the people that had it bad, and they kept going. I’ve got people back home that are looking up to me. So, if I give up, I'm giving them the mindset that they can give up when something hard comes. So as long as I keep pushing forward and doing what I need to do, I'm giving those young kids and those guys back home that are looking up to me motivation to keep going through whatever they're going through.

Jamison Patton | S | Sr.

Q: A lot of emotion from you in that last interception, running down to the end zone. What’s it like to win a game here after the streak you guys have been on? What were the emotions like in that locker room?

A: The emotions were high. Feels good to get a win. It wasn’t the cleanest win. We’ve still got some things to work on, but it’s hard to win in college football, and we got it done. So, I’m proud of the guys for responding.

Q: Coach Campbell said, other than the Northwestern game, this team has continued to take steps forward and grow. Why do you think that there has been such a resolve amongst you and your teammates to keep pushing, even though the results haven’t been what you wanted?”

A: Yeah, it’s just our commitment to each other. We built some good bonds throughout this time we’ve had. I think it’s just our commitment and caring for one another and the seniors for sure, not going out in a bad way and putting on for the seniors.

Q: Can you walk us through that interception, what you saw in that play?

A: Honestly, it was being in the right spot at the right time. We had some corner pressure and pressure got home, quarterback threw a bad ball, and I was in the right spot.

Q: How close are you guys as a secondary unit? It just seems like you guys have this chemistry that’s unlike any other we’ve seen here.

A: Yeah, I think we’re close. We’ve got some good relationships, and I think it shows in how we play and how we celebrate with each other. But it’s just a credit to us just building our bonds through the offseason in a short amount of time.
