Safety Jonathan Duckett enters spring drills looking to compete for playing time in the secondary. All four secondary starters from 2011 were seniors, including safeties Drew Astorino and Nick Sukay. A redshirt sophomore this fall, Duckett played at Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg.

Duckett was a four-year letterman and three-year starter at Bishop McDevitt under head coach Jeff Weachter. He played in the 2010 Big 33 Game. After his senior season, he was named 1st team AAAA All-State by the AP and PA Football News. Also selected to the 2009 Patriot News All-Star Team and won Mid-Penn League Defensive MVP. Also a four-year letterman in track, where he was a captain and helped set school records in the 4x100 relay, discus, and shot put. He helped Bishop McDevitt win the 2009 PIAA AA State Championship in track. He helped earn a silver medal in the 4x100 in 2008 as well as a bronze in discus in 2009 and medaled in shot put in 2009 and 2010. Also medaled in discus in 2010. At McDevitt, won the Anthony N. Cernugel Athletic Award. Also received the Joseph L. & Irene H. Wrabel Memorial Award.

Full name is Jonathan Patrick Duckett. He is the son of Mark and Linda Duckett. Has two brothers, Gregory and Christopher. His aunt graduated from Penn State in 1985. He enjoys fishing, hunting, jeeping, working out, cooking, and camping. After football, he would like to become a strength and conditioning coach. Born on July 15, 1991 in Harrisburg, Pa.
