Brent Carter is expected to be 100 percent for the 2009 campaign after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee early last season. Carter was having a promising season as the No. 3 tailback, posting 129 yards on 22 carries for a superlative 5.9 average, before tearing his ACL while making a block on Derrick Williams[apos] 63-yard punt return touchdown in the second quarter of Penn State[apos]s 48-7 victory at Wisconsin. He underwent surgery in late October and with continued steady progress through the summer in his physical rehabilitation, Carter should be ready by preseason camp to compete for time in the talented backfield.
