The Penn State football team has featured numerous brother tandems on the roster at the same time during the Joe Paterno era, including Josh and Ethan Hull and Patrick and Michael Mauti on the 2009 squad. Somewhat rarer, though, is the brotherly tie for redshirt freshman Mark Wedderburn, who arrived in Happy Valley 10 years after one of his older brothers, Floyd, had played his senior season as a Nittany Lion. Mark is a talented and athletic tight end who has made considerable progress during his initial year in the program. He has good size and strength and reliable hands. With Andrew Quarless and Mickey Shuler entering their senior seasons, gaining experience for Wedderburn this season will be vital in developing immediate depth and experience for 2010 and beyond. Floyd was a standout offensive tackle for the Nittany Lions, earning first-team All-Big Ten honors as a senior in 1998.
