Bowman, who turned 19 in August, comes to Penn State after a year prepping at St. Thomas More School in Oakdale, Conn. The extra year out of high school allowed Bowman to mature physically which he demonstrated by posting 23 reps on the 185-pound bench press during preseason conditioning, the second-best mark on the team. Also possessing a better than 30-inch vertical, Bowman brings terrific athleticism and a smooth perimeter jump shot to the Nittany Lion backcourt. Termed a real 'gym rat' by his former coaches, Bowman[apos]s strong work ethic and experience playing a high level of competition at St. Thomas More will give him an opportunity to earn playing time early in his freshman season.
