2022-23 • JUNIOR SEASON
 
Awards: Named an Academic All-Big Ten honoree…Named a 2022-23 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar…Earned Allentown Regional All-Tournament Team accolades.
 
Season: Skated in all 39 games registering a career-best marks in each offensive category with 20 points on five goals and 15 assists to go along with a team-high 70 blocked shots.
 
Canisius (10/7): Collected the primary assist on an empty net goal to seal the opening night victory. Canisius (10/8): Scored on the powerplay to open the scoring during a 7-5 victory to complete the sweep. Mercyhurst (10/13) Scored a goal in a 6-3 victory. at Wisconsin (10/29) Registered an assist in a 2-1 victory. No. 1 Michigan (11/5): Tallied an assist in a 4-3 loss.  at No. 1 Minnesota (11/10): Registered an assist in a 4-2 victory. No. 17 Michigan State (11/18): Collected the first multi-goal game of his career with a pair of scores in a 4-3 victory. at Notre Dame (12/9): Registered an assist in a 5-2 win. at No. 17 Michigan State (1/13-1/14): Recorded an assist in each game of the series. at No. 7 Michigan (1/27): Had one assist in a 7-3 loss. at No. 7 Michigan (1/28): Tied his career-best with two assists in a 5-4 setback. at No. 7 Ohio State (2/3): Collected an assist in a 4-3 win. Wisconsin (2/24): Tallied an assist in 6-1 win. Wisconsin (2/25): Added an assist in a 2-1 loss. vs. No. 13 Michigan Tech (3/24): Collected one goal and one assist to tie his career high with two points in an 8-0 opening round victory in the NCAA Tournament. vs. No. 2 Michigan (3/26): Had the primary assist on the lone goal in a 2-1 setback in the NCAA Regional Final. 

2021-22 • SOPHOMORE SEASON

Awards: Earned 2021-22 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar accolades...Named a 2021-22 Academic All-Big Ten honoree.

Season: Skated in all 38 games and saw career highs with two goals and 13 assists for 15 points.

LIU (10/4): Scored his first career goal in a 5-2 victory. Canisius (10/9): Recorded a career-best two assists to tie his career high in points in a 5-2 win. Niagara (10/21): Tied his career high with two points on one goal and one assist in a 4-0 shutout. Niagara (10/22): Registered one assist in a 6-2 victory. at St. Thomas (11/23): Notched one assist in a 5-1 win. Michigan State (12/4): Tallied one assist in a 4-3 loss. at Army (1/1): Notched one assist in a 5-3 victory. No. 13/13 Notre Dame (1/8): Tallied one assist in a hard-fought 5-4 loss. Wisconsin (1/21): Registered one assist in a 4-1 victory. at No. 13/12 Notre Dame (2/4): Recorded one assist in a 7-2 loss. Minnesota (2/19): Contributed one assist in a 6-4 loss. No. 12/12 Ohio State (3/5): Tallied two assists to tie his career-high in a 3-2 victory.

2020-21 • FRESHMAN SEASON

Season: Skated in all 22 games and collected one assist.

Michigan State (1/16): Recorded his first point as a Nittany Lion with one assist in a 3-1 win.

BEFORE PENN STATE

Played the 2019-20 season with the USHL’s Omaha Lancers…Skated in 44 games and registered 22 points (5G, 17A)…Spent 2018-19 with the Madison Capitols totaling 19 points (8G, 11A).

PERSONAL

Son of Cindy and Dan Berger…Has four older brothers Jack, Jimmy, Chase and Scotty…Becomes the third Berger to play for head coach Guy Gadowsky joining oldest brother Jack and former Nittany Lion captain Chase Berger ’19…Jack played for Gadowsky at Princeton eventually serving as captain during his junior and senior seasons following Gadowsky’s tenure on the Tiger bench...Chase, a two-year captain, played four seasons at Penn State from 2015-2019 and is the program’s all-time leader in games played (154),  served as a two-year captain…Majoring in finance.
