Career: Ranks eighth in career points by a defenseman at Penn State with 50 while his nine goals and 41 assists are each good for seventh among Nittany Lion blueliners.
 
Season: 2021-22: Registered the sixth-most single-season assists by a defenseman in program history with 18 while his 21 points tied for the eighth-most by a Nittany Lion blue-liner all-time.
 
2022-23 • JUNIOR SEASON
 
Awards: Named a 2022-23 Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
 
Season: Skated in 37-of-38 games registering career-bests in each offensive category with three goals and 18 assists for 21 points...ranked fifth on the team with 37 blocked shots.
 
Canisius (10/7): Netted the game-winning goal while adding an assist in a 5-2 win. Canisius (10/8): Registered an assist in a 7-5 win. Mercyhurst (10/13): Assisted a goal in a 6-3 win tying his career-best point and assist streak at three games. St. Thomas (10/20):  Collected a pair of assists in a 6-2 win. St. Thomas (10/21):  Tallied an assist in a 3-2 victory. No. 1 Michigan (11/4):  Registered an assist in a 3-0 win. No. 17 Michigan State (11/18): Scored one goal in a 4-3 win. Alaska (11/23): Tallied one assist in a 2-1 win. No. 17 Ohio State (12/2): Registered one goal and one assist in a 2-1 victory.  No. 17 Ohio State (12/3): Tallied one assist in a 4-3 defeat. at No. 7 Ohio State (2/4): Scored one goal in 4-2 loss.  No. 2 Minnesota (2/17): Assisted on both goals in a 7-2 setback. Wisconsin (2/24-2/25): Had one assist in each game of a series split. at No. 9 Ohio State (3/3): Registered an assist in 5-1 loss. vs. No. 13 Michigan Tech (3/24): Collected two assists in an 8-0 victory in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

Michigan State (12/3): Collected one assist in a 4-2 victory. Michigan State (12/4): Tied his career high of two assists in a 4-3 loss. No. 13/13 Notre Dame (1/8): Achieved his first multi-goal game after scoring two goals in a 5-4 loss. at No. 4/5 Michigan (1/14): Notched one assist in a 3-2 loss. 2020-21 • FRESHMAN SEASON

Season: Skated in 20 games and led all Penn State defensemen with 10 points on a pair of goals and eight assists...Was second on the team with a plus-7 rating.

at Wisconsin (11/24): Notched his first collegiate point with an assist. Michigan (12/3): Scored his first goal and registered his first multi-point game by adding an assist in a 9-5 victory. at Ohio State (1/8): Recorded a career-high three points with one goal and two assists in a 6-3 loss. Michigan State (1/16): Tallied one assist in a 3-1 win. Wisconsin (1/22): Recorded one assist in a 5-4 victory. at Notre Dame (3/6): Registered an assist on the lone Nittany Lion goal. Wisconsin (3/15): Had one assist in an overtime decision.

BEFORE PENN STATE

Played two seasons with the Chicago Steel of the USHL…Served as an alternate captain in 2019-20...Registered 26 points on four goals and 22 assists in 48 games played…Had one goal with 18 assists for 19 points in 61 total games played during his first USHL season in 2018-19…Helped Chicago capture the 2019 Eastern Conference Championship before a loss to the Sioux Falls Stampede in three games in the Clark Cup Championship.

PERSONAL

Son of Lisa and Jim Dowd…Has one younger brother, Anthony…Father, Jim Dowd Sr. appeared in over 800 NHL games, over 16 seasons, most notably with the New Jersey Devils (1995 Stanley Cup Champion) and Minnesota Wild, after a four-year career at Lake Superior State…Majoring in communications.
