Fall 2012: Griffin won five matches and went 5-9 this fall. He also combined with Matt Barry to go 4-5 in doubles... Won two matches at the UVa Fall Classic and Tennessee Invitational and another match at the ITA Atlantic Regional... Reached the consolation final at the UVa Fall Classic with wins over College of Charleston[apos]s Josh Record(3-6, 6-4, 10-6) and Billy Kenny(6-4, 6-2)... At the Tennessee Invitational, knocked off Eastern Kentucky[apos]s Joao Maio(6-0, 6-1) and Wright State[apos]s Hayden Joblin(3-6, 6-3, 10-8)... Earned a 7-5, 7-5 win over William & Mary[apos]s Ben Hoogland at the ITA Atlantic Regional... Barry and Griffin combined for three wins and claimed the doubles draw title at the Tennessee Invitational. On their way to the final, they knocked off Wright State[apos]s Michael Lyzwa and Lauri Makikalli(8-1) and Xavier[apos]s Patrick Bandy and Phil Diaz(8-6). In the final, Tennessee[apos]s Jarryd Chaplin and Mikelis Libietis retired due to injury... At the Big Ten Indoors, they defeated Illinois[apos] Bruno Abdelnour and Ross Guignon.(8-5).
2011-12 Season (Junior): Griffin went 2-5 in the spring and 2-4 in the fall in singles... He also went 7-16 in spring doubles action and 3-2 in fall doubles action... Opened the fall season going 1-2 at the Farnsworth/Princeton Invitational, defeating Binghamton[apos]s Ruben Haggai 4-6, 7-6(4-0), 6-4. He also combined with Jason Lee to go 1-1 in doubles, topping Princeton[apos]s Michael Lin and Yohel Shoji(8-5) ... Also went 1-2 at the UVa Fall Classic, downing ETSU[apos]s Conner Knox 6-4, 6-2. In doubles, combined with Christopher Hasyn to defeat Norfolk State[apos]s Christian Romanzini and Ben Marks 8-4. He then combined with Taylor Cohen to defeat Eastern Kentucky[apos]s Parul Verma and Joao Maio(8-6)... Went 2-1 in spring non-conference singles matches with wins against Bloomsburg and Bucknell. Also went 7-3 in non-conference doubles, while combining with Welnetz, Cohen, Young, and Hasyn. Included wins against St. Bonaventure, Lehigh, Bloomsburg, Buffalo, Bucknell, Army, and South Florida... Conference singles matches included a tough 5-7, 7-6(8-6), 2-10 defeat against #23 Illinois[apos] Farris Gosea. Paired with Hasyn, Bader, and Hanzlik during conference doubles matches. Lost tough matches against Iowa, Wisconsin, and #21 Michigan.
2010-11 Season (Sophomore): Went 2-5 in the spring 2011 singles campaign...Posted a record of 5-10 in the spring 2011 doubles season...Won back-to-back matches in the consolation draw of the Farnsworth/Princeton Invitational before falling in the finals to kick off the fall singles season...Defeated Fairleigh Dickinson[apos]s Dom Hemy (5-7, 7-6 (1), ret.) in the USTA Invitational...Won consecutive spring matches against Mark Malloy of Bucknell (6-1, 6-3) on Feb. 13 and against Villanova[apos]s Matt Colonnese on March 13, 6-1, 6-3...Teamed with Russell Bader to defeat Buffalo[apos]s Marcelo Mazzetto and Travis Zappia, 8-6...Joined forces with Jason Lee to record victories over No. 30 Virginia Tech[apos]s Luka Somen and Carrado Tocci, 8-2, and Daniil Proskura and Jarryd Botha of No. 36 Boise State at the annual Blue Gray Tournament (Feb. 25-27).
2009-10 Season (Freshman): Went a perfect 5-0 in spring singles action...Notched a 5-2 record in spring doubles competition...Won his first career match over Penn[apos]s Mark Milbrandt (7-5, 3-6, 6-0)...Picked up two wins over Purdue[apos]s Jan-Frans Engelbrech (6-1, 4-6, 6-2) and Michigan State[apos]s Clark Richardson (6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (4)) at the Big Ten Indoor Tournament last November...Earned his first career dual match victory on Jan. 24 over Lehigh[apos]s Ryan Krueger (6-2, 6-4)...Picked up a three-set victory over St. Bonaventure[apos]s Oscar Yanez (7-5, 3-6, 1-0 (8)) on Feb. 14...Tallied another win that same day over Bucknell[apos]s Josh Katten (6-2, 7-5)...Defeated James Murphy (6-0, 6-1) of Lafayette on Feb. 28...Closed his season with a 6-0, 6-3 win against Bloomsburg[apos]s Brandon Cummings (6-0, 6-3)...Won his first career doubles match with Warren Hardie at the Princeton/Farnsworth Fall Invitational over Princeton[apos]s Matt Spindler and Matija Pecotic (8-4)...Paired with Bryan Welnetz at the Big Ten Indoor Tournament to defeat Purdue[apos]s Jan-Frans Englebrach and Billy Heuer (8-5)...Picked up victories in his first six doubles matches of the spring season...Won his first spring doubles match with Welnetz on Jan. 24 over Lehigh[apos]s Collin Laffey and Ryan Krueger (8-6)...Won two matches with Ryan Gormley on Feb. 14 over St. Bonaventure[apos]s Mikhail Sudakov and Enric Larregola (8-4) and Bucknell[apos]s Josh Katten and Clark Bogle (8-3)...Teamed with Guanhua Chen on April 11 to defeat Bloomsburg[apos]s Brandon Cummings and Alan Hummel (8-4).
Junior Career:Was a Division IV State Champion at Portland High School...Went undefeated his entire high school career, going 36-0, including 20-0 his senior year...Participated at the Kalmazoo Nationals (2006-08), 14 and under Nationals (2003-04) and 12 and under Nationals (2002).
