2018-2019 (Senior): Lieb had a stellar senior season. In the fall, Lieb and partner Matt Galush went 4-0 in doubles at the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships. The pair advanced to the quarterfinals before defaulting to teammates Gabriel Nemeth and Constant De La Bassetiere. In the spring, Lieb and Galush continued their success, finishing with a 15-5 record and five Big Ten wins. Lieb helped anchor the team in singles at the No. 5 position, going 10-4. He finished with an overall 19-12 singles record and five conference victories.
2017-2018 (Junior): Ben started his junior season off with a strong 5-5 singles record. In doubles, he went 5-4, with four of those wins earned with partner Matt Galush. In the spring, Ben had an impressive doubles record of 14-7. Ben teamed up with Christian Lakoseljac at the end of the season and went 6-3, winning five straight in the month of April. The duo also earned a victory over Big Ten opponent, No. 6 Illinois.
2016-2017 (Sophomore): Ben kicked off his sophomore year strong making it to the third round of the Ivy Plus Tournament and finishing 3-3 overall in the fall season. However, in the spring season Ben really showed his strength winning eleven of his seventeen matches. Playing at the five and six position throughout the season, Ben’s wins were crucial, especially in the upset of No. 31 Minnesota. The sophomore also had big wins against Penn and Temple. In the doubles circuit, Lieb and partner Gabriel Nemeth had two big wins against Penn and Harvard at the Ivy Plus Tournament. In the spring season Ben won four of his six matches playing with three different partners for four of those wins. Of those wins the biggest, was the 6-1 dominance of Lieb and Aws Laaribi against Josh Pompan and Thomas Spratt of Penn.
2015-2016 (Freshman): Ben Lieb was successful in singles this season, playing at the No. 5 and 6 spots during the year, posting a 20-10 record overall. During the fall he made it to the final round of competition at the Ivy Plus Invitational, besting No. 43 Dartmouth along the way. At the ITA Regional Championships, Lieb defeated No. 33 Virginia Tech. During the Big Ten Indoor Championships he reached the quarterfinals, taking a win of No. 15 Northwestern on the way. To start the spring season, Lieb took six straight wins. Throughout the spring, he outdid No. 43 Dartmouth, No. 48 Old Dominion, No. 54 Cornell, No. 66 Nebraska, No. 50 Purdue, and No. 57 Wisconsin. Lieb was also featured in some doubles play during the fall season, starting off with four straight wins - one against No. 28 Columbia - with partner Roman Trkulja.
Before Penn State: Lieb was a four-time All Delco player and National High School Tennis All-American while attending The Haverford School. He went undefeated his entire high school career alternating first and second positions. Lieb was listed as one of the Top 40 High School players when at The Haverford School. Lieb and his twin brother went on to win two National Doubles Championships, also participating in the National Opens, National Clay Court and National Hard Court tournaments. Lieb won the New England/Mid-Atlantic Championships and The Philadelphia Cup Championships 2012, 2013, and 2015. His senior year Lieb was awarded the Captain’s Cup by his teammates noting his leadership abilities and inspiration to the entire team. His overall record coming into Penn State was 94-1-1.
