2022 • JUNIOR SEASON
Season: Played in 22 sets over 10 matches as a serving specialist…Finished season with two aces and two digs.
 
No. 6 BYU (1/6): Aced very first collegiate serve in 3-0 win over Cougars. at No. 2 UCLA (1/22): Picked up another service ace.

2021 • SOPHOMORE SEASON
Awards: Earned Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and Academic All-Big Ten honors...Named to EIVA All-Academic Team. 

Season: Did not see action due to injury. 

2020 • FRESHMAN SEASON
Season:  Did not see action...Season shortened and no championship held due to COVID-19 pandemic.

BEFORE PENN STATE
Named team captain three times at Barrington High School 2017-2019…Helped Broncos to four-straight regional championships 2016-19 and two sectional titles 2018-19…Chosen a 2019 AVCA second team Boys High School All-American as an outside hitter…Named to IHSA Second Team All-State Team in 2019…Chosen Daily Herald Northwest Suburban League Co-Player of the Year in 2019…Selected to Chicago Tribune and Daily Herald Northwest Suburbs All-Area Team twice in 2018 and 2019…Played club volleyball for Adversity 18 Adidas two seasons in 2018-19…Competed for Pipeline Volleyball Club in 2017-18.

Full name is Gabriel Michael Hartke…Parents are Amy and Michael Hartke…Has two brothers, Luke and Cole…Mother, Amy, played volleyball at Northern Illinois University from 1990-93 and competed for the Dominican Republic National Team in 1995…Father, Michael, played basketball at Northern Illinois University 1992-96…Majoring in biomedical engineering with pre-medicine focus.
