Michael Schroeder is the Director of Wrestling Athletic Performance and came to Penn State in 2013. He works directly with Wrestling, but over the years has been the performance coach for other programs such as Men’s Volleyball, Women’s Golf, and Men’s and Women’s Fencing. He also works with the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club training post graduate international freestyle wrestlers. This club produces National, World, and Olympic Team Members.
Schroeder graduated from Lock Haven University with a bachelor's degree in Recreation (Fitness) Management. He also is a graduate of Integrative Bodywork School of Massage Therapy.
Schroeder holds certifications as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association and is Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association. He is also certified in Neuromuscular and Myofascial Release as well as other various massage modalities.
He and his wife, Sarah, have two dogs, Evie and Kota.
