Barry Gant, Jr. began working for Penn State Athletics as an Assistant Director of Performance Enhancement in January of 2014.
Gant completed most of his undergraduate studies while playing collegiate baseball at Grossmont College and Cal-Poly Pomona University. Gant also attended San Diego State University. In 2008, Gant received his bachelor's degree in Business Management from UOP.
In 2005, Barry accepted a football strength and conditioning internship at the University of Miami. He proceeded to Louisiana State University where he served as an intern strength and conditioning coach for both football and baseball from 2010-2011.
From 2011-2014, Gant was the Assistant Director of Performance Enhancement at Vanderbilt University.
Barry’s certifications include CSCCa, Barefoot Training Specialist Level 1, FMS, CES, MMAFx, and U.S.A. Weightlifting Level 2 Sports Performance Coach.
The New Orleans, Louisiana native is married to Jennifer Brownlow Gant. They have a son, Barry III.
