Ben Kogut enters his third season as Penn State hockey’s head equipment manager in 2020-21 after serving in the same capacity for the women’s team from 2014-2018.
Kogut previously served as director of operations for Vermont’s women’s hockey team (2010-14) as well as serving as its equipment manager.
A part of USA Hockey since 2012, Kogut assists with various teams. He has helped the USA Women’s U-18 effort to silver medals at the 2013 IIHF Women’s World Championships in Finland and 2014 IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship in Hungary, and the United States’ first U18 gold since 2011 at the 2015 IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship in Buffalo, New York.
Kogut is a 2010 graduate of Vermont with a bachelor of science degree in community development and applied economics. He was promoted to women’s head equipment manager as a student in January 2009, which led to his elevation upon his graduation to the director of operations.
