Bill Kavanaugh is in his fourth year on the coaching staff and his first season coaching the wide receivers. Kavanaugh came to Penn State in 2008 and served as a graduate assistant coach working with the running backs and the defensive scout team his first three years. Working with Galen Hall, he helped develop Evan Royster for three 1,000-yard seasons, ending his career as the Nittany Lions[apos] career rushing leader. Earlier this year, Kavanaugh was named the Nittany Lions[apos] recruiting coordinator, responsible for the evaluation of all potential recruits, a role he continues to oversee. Kavanaugh played at Bentley University from 2000-03, earning Northeast-10 All-Conference (2002 and [apos]03) and All-America (2003) accolades. He led NCAA Division II in sacks as a junior. Kavanaugh graduated from Bentley in 2004 and was an assistant coach at UMass-Dartmouth, Stonehill and Bentley prior to joining the Nittany Lions[apos] staff. Kavanaugh earned a master[apos]s degree in educational leadership from Penn State in 2010.
