Bri Kanz is the Assistant Director of Athletic Performance at Penn State University, where she works with the women’s soccer program. Kanz joined Penn State in 2024 after serving as Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Performance at Santa Clara University. Prior to Santa Clara, she spent four years at Stanford University, where she was responsible for women’s soccer, women’s water polo, and artistic swimming, contributing to three NCAA National Championships. During her time at Stanford, Kanz worked with Olympic medalists Catarina Macario, Naomi Girma, Sophia Smith, Tierna Davidson, Makenzie Fischer, and Aria Fischer. Her experience includes the application of athlete monitoring and performance technologies to support training and competition demands.
Kanz earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science (2015) and graduate degrees in Exercise Physiology (2016) and Sports Science (2017) from the University of Akron. She holds certifications through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and Smart Tools Blood Flow Restriction Level 1 and Level 2.
